What you can see
You are looking at a dig in the hills, with a small visitor center and trails. Do not expect a staffed national park.
Stop at the Baker thermometer on the way. It is the short photo stop. This site is the longer one.
Heat and safety
Summer afternoons commonly sit above 100°F (38°C), and the trails have little shade. Read the desert tips, carry water, and keep the visit short if the forecast is extreme.
